Rugby Artists’ Support Group aims to encourage fellowship and mutual support for all artists in the Rugby area over 16 years who wish to join. It provides the opportunity to network, collaborate, discuss, develop and promote artists’ practice across the whole spectrum of visual art activities at all levels
.
An important part of RASG’s work is to encourage artists to meet and network through its Studio Groups. Groups of between about ten to twelve people meet regularly and visit each other’s studios/work spaces for constructive discussion about each other’s work, providing small support ‘families’ where members can safely seek advice and talk about their own work, and art in general.
The group also hosts four main meetings a year for all members, at Rugby Art Gallery & Museum, and produces four Newsletters - keeping members up to date about the visual arts in the area. It also holds an annual exhibition, occasional workshops and sketching sessions.
